When I initially saw this Bill Buckner jersey the first thing I thought was what other random jerseys a Mets fan would potentially wear. Considering this game was in Pittsburgh I totally would have accepted a Bobby Bonilla or Oliver Perez Mets jersey.
Oliver Perez gave the Mets a 4.71 ERA over 101 appearances for a cold $44 million. As for Bobby Bo, he’s getting paid $1.2 million a year through 2035 because the Mets front office is stupid. Shout out to Bobby Bo for doing his thing. I’ve still got his poster on my wall and I laugh every time I think about him still getting paid.
As for this Bill Buckner jersey, I can’t fault this Mets fan for honoring the most infamous play in Mets history. Sure it’s no Fernando Tatis jersey, but it’ll do.
