#RandomJersey of the Year Nominee: Len Bias Maryland

len-bias-jerseyThis summer you aren’t going to be turning heads by rocking a Carmelo Anthony jersey. That’s as exciting as period panties. You want stand out among the most random of Hoopster Nation? Rock a yellow Maryland Len Bias jersey like this one sent in by @KSchulman.

The reason this Len Bias jersey is so dope is that Len Bias was like a magical unicorn full of potential (but not a hot unicorn that talks sports). He was the number two overall pick in the 86′ NBA Draft and it just so happens that he OD’d on blow “after using it for the first time ever” (just like Ron Washington) two days after the Draft and died. What could have been an NBA Superstar turned out to be the absolute worst case scenario of a draft day disaster.

Knowing who Len Bias is and why rocking his college jersey is both random and awesome is definitely why this is a jersey of the year nominee.

Let’s hear from you. Give us your best Len Bias joke. Just kidding, we aren’t that heartless.
