college-gameday-northwesternCollege GameDay was at Northwestern today and luckily for me that is right in my backyard. I took the 30 minute drive from Chicago to Evanston to see how Wildcats fans get down.

Stereotypes are usually accurate because they are true. The stereotypes that you have in your head about what Northwestern football fans are like is 100% true. It is an academics first school (which was evident by some of their signs) and these aren’t the type of people that blow a .341 like our girl at Iowa Vokda Samm. While there was a decent amount of creativity there, this hardly felt like a major conference tailgate like I’d expect at any other school hosting College GameDay for the first time since 1995. I’ve seen people get after it harder in a church parking lot before a wedding.

This is my account of what took place at College GameDay. A photo diary of the signs, fans, and general awesome or awkwardness that went down. There were lots of Breaking Bad references, no hoopsters, a decent amount of jerseys, way too many signs dealing with how dumb Braxton Miller is, no signs that offended me, and no sight of drunk people or alcohol anywhere. None.
