Texas A&M QB Kenny Hill had a hell of a debut last night in the Aggies 52-28 romp of Ol’ Ball Coach’s Gamecocks.  511 yards passing and 3 TD’s on the road in his first game and in the process breaking Johnny Manziel’s single game passing record. Kenny Hill is the son of former Expos/Cardinals/Rangers/Angles/Devil Rays/Indians/White Sox pitcher Ken Hill. I wanted to find a video of Ken Hill, the pitcher, doing something sweet, possibly with a young Pedro Martinez or Rondell White in the background but apparently that’s where Youtube stops. I couldn’t find any Ken Hill videos, period. In my search results on the second page for “Ken Hill baseball” popped up this video of the third basemen for the Mariners from way back in the day (just look at those sweet uni’s) on his hands and knees blowing a ball down the line foul.

You’ve gotta give Lenny Randle credit, he is both using his brains and brawn to help his team win. At first the ump’s called this play foul but upon conferring they did not allow the shenanigans/thinking outside the box to be allowed.

Back to Ken Hill, the pitcher. This is the back of his 1992 Fleer Ultra baseball card. Back in the day I was all over Fleer Ultra’s and Upper Deck’s. It’s nice that Fleer Ultra showed us how Ken Hill lays down a bunt. Being able to move the runner over is important in my likability rankings of a pitcher.

Myself, G-Hunt and 10 other guys are going to be taking two RV’s down to the Texas A&M at Auburn game in November so I’ll be drinking the Kenny Hill and Texas A&M kool-aid all year! If you are a company that is down with sports, fun, and awesomeness and want to sponsor our amazing RV trip, or you have some connections down at Auburn that can help show us a good time give us a shout at boom@baconsports.com.
