postseason-baseball-triviaThe marathon is over and the sprint to baseballs greatest prize is now upon us. The MLB post season. And with it, I throw some delicious sports trivia at ya, ranging from World Series winners all the way to players that never made it to the World Series. Enjoy.

Part 1 – Name the last 10 World Series champions:

  1. 2012
  2. 2011
  3. 2010
  4. 2009
  5. 2008
  6. 2007
  7. 2006
  8. 2005
  9. 2004
  10. 2003

Part 2 – Random team World Series trivia:

  1. Most appearances by a team in the World Series?
  2. Name the two teams to have never made it to the World Series?
  3. In 2001 the New York Yankees were trying to win the World Series for the fourth year in a row. Which team beat them?
  4. First team to ever be repeat World Series champions?
  5. Jim Leyland won a pennant in both leagues. With which two teams?

Part 3 – These poor studs have never made it to the World Series, name them:

  1. Future hall of famer, threw only the second no-hitter in postseason history by blanking the Reds in 2010.
  2. With over 4000 hits to his name in two countries and a season with 116 wins, this player has never been to the World Series.
  3. The best left handed pitcher in baseball from 2004-2008, never made it to the World Series with the Minnesota Twins or New York Mets.
  4. Possibly a Bartman foul ball away from making the series with the Cubs, this Milwaukee Brewer third baseman doesn’t appear to be getting to the World Series anytime soon.
  5. Shortstop that signed a 6 year, $106 deal then got traded to a preseason favorite AL East team, only to come in last place. Just like the year before with the Miami Marlins.

Part 4 – These players are the opposite of the last section. Name the player that has played on each of the teams in the playoffs:

  1. Mustached Pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins that played for 18 years starting in 1977.
  2. Intimidating Pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays who’s nickname is Smoke.
  3. Gritty third baseman for New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and the Florida Marlins.

Part 5 – Bonus time. 2 Questions. Super hard. Good luck:

  1. Which four teams made the MLB playoffs in the American League in 2003?
  2. Which four teams made the MLB playoffs in the National League in 2009?

Before we get to the answers, you know its that time where we take a minute out of Friday and enjoy a provided video. You’re welcome.
