holtz bearThe National Championship game between Notre Dame and Alabama is on New Year’s Day early next week so we thought that we’d bring you an edition of Hard Sports Trivia questions that will test your knowledge of the game and the teams. Unless you are Howie Schwab you are going to have one hell of a time with this week’s questions. Think of this as part sports trivia, part dropping knowledge to make you smarter. So let’s get this rolling or in the words of Mike Price, “Roll Tide Roll…it’s rolling baby!”.

NCAA National Championship Trivia:

  1. What former Ohio State Buckeye and current Cardinals runningback has the record for longest touchdown in BCS Championship history?

Who am I? I’ll give you a series of hints to figure out who the player is.

  1. I was born on May 15, 1975.
  2. In my first year at college, I was named to the freshman All-American team.  And the following two years, I was named to the 1st team All-American team.
  3. I led the Big East in tackles my final two seasons and finished fifth in my school’s history despite only playing three years.
  4. I was drafted with the 26th pick in the first round in the 1996 draft. I was also the fifth linebacker taken at that point.
  5. The year following my indictment on a murder charge, I was named Superbowl MVP but my teammate, Trent Dilfer, was asked to say the signature catchphrase “I’m going to Disneyland”.
  6. I announced that I will retire once the Baltimore Ravens playoffs have ended.
