Bill Cartwright Bulls jersey

Much respect for this Hoopster rocking a Bill Cartwright Bulls jersey. In the order of which throwback Bulls jersey that most fans would get this definitely comes after MJ, Scottie, Rodman, Ho Grant (even though I’ve never seen a Ho Grant jersey), BJ Armstong, John Paxson, and Steve Kerr. Only then would you probably start considering Bill Cartwright and even then I might opt for a Craig Hodges instead (though I’d certainly take Cartwright over Stacey King, Will Purdue, and Scott Williams).

Bill Cartwright went to the University of San Francisco. Can you name their mascot (I’ll tell you at the end)? What you probably didn’t know about Cartwright is that he was the third overall pick in the 1979 NBA Draft (which is the same draft that Magic Johnson went number one overall to the Los Angeles Lakers). That draft also saw Vinnie “the Microwave” Johnson (7) and Jim Paxson (John’s Brother – 12) get selected. There’s not much else to tell about Bill Cartwright other than the fact that he was a good player (averaged 13.2 ppg and 6.3 boards for his career),made one All Star team (early in his career with the Knicks), and he won three NBA titles.

The answer to the question is the Dons. What you probably don’t know about the San Francisco Dons is that both KC Jones and Bill Russell also went there. The Dons also have the second most NBA Championships won by players from their school with 25. The school with the most is North Carolina with 28.

Shout out to Reggie Smith for this awesome find!
