By now you’ve probably seen Antonio Brown’s karate kick to the face of the Browns kicker. Most of the parodies or comparisons I’m seeing involve the Karate Kid. It’s good but not good enough. Antonio Brown was actually paying homage to former Detroit Lions running back Billy Sims, who was the originator of the flying karate kick.

I love how the announcers in the video, upon seeing Billy Sims go all ninja, say “you think he’s not ready to play football today?!” And they don’t stop there, they continue to dish about how Billy Sims is so excited and that he is using that kick like a straight arm. At no point do they think that his karate kick is anything other than an exceptional effort out of a running back who is ballin hard. Bravo!
