flynn-twinkieAfter winning their game on Wednesday night, the Chicago Blackhawks have now made it through half of the season without losing a single game in regulation.  That means, including last season, they have gotten a point (won or were tied at the end of regulation) in every regular season game since March 25, 2012.  That’s a really long time.  To show just how much time has passed, I’ve made a list that I like to call: Things That Were True the Last Time the Blackhawks Lost.

No one had heard of Gangnam Style, and the Harlem Shake was pretty much only done in Harlem.

Matt Flynn was listed as the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.

I could buy a Twinkie.

Mike Trout was a Triple-A player for the Salt Lake Bees.

When people wanted to do something reckless, they needed to take the time to say, “You only live once”.

The new Miami Marlins were looking like they were going to take the National League by storm with a high priced team that featured José Reyes, Hanley Ramírez, Mark Buehrle, Carlos Zambrano, Heath Bell, and respected manager Ozzie Guillén.

The Mayan Calendar was discussed in casual conversation.

No one cared who Ryan Lochte was, then everyone cared, then no one cared again.

Bath Salts were for the tub only.

We weren’t sure if Payton Manning would ever be able to play again, and we were hoping Adrian Peterson would be back to his old self by the end of the season.

No Pope had retired in like 600 years.

Basically, it was a whole different world the last time the Blackhawks lost.  Crazy, right?  And they way they’re playing, who knows what new dance crazes, mind-melting drugs, or religious turmoil will come along before the Blackhawks lose again.

We want to hear from you. What are some things that have happened since the last time the Blackhawks didn’t get a point that are different now?
