The custom jerseys game has exploded (as we’ve well documented over the years) and it’s gotten to the point where nothing will surprise me. Instead I’m more interested in the levels of debauchery and inappropriateness that sports fans think are acceptable. This week I was sent two custom jerseys from Chicago baseball fans that are each worthy of their own breakdown (h/t to MadAnthony & Meredith Alenky).
On the left we have a Chicago White Sox fan who thought it would be a great idea to make a pedophile joke on the back of his jersey. There’s a 95% chance that he’s on Chris Hanson’s radar and will be appearing on a TV near you. Can you imagine being friends with this guy and trying to pick up a girl? “Hey, let me introduce me to my friend, he’s the one with the underage sex jersey on.”
On the right we’ve got the poster boy for Chicago Cubs fandom. Everyone thinks that Cubs fans only care about drinking beer and partying and this jersey nails the stereotype. Despite this, huge props to this guy for the creativity and execution of his jersey. The “oz” is a subtle touch that really makes this jersey pop. Plus, who doesn’t love the beer man?
