When Shawn Kemp was on the Seattle SuperSonics he was one of the Top 3 dunkers in the NBA. He never won an NBA Slam Dunk contest but he most definitely was a better dunker than Dee Brown, Brent Barry, Cedric Ceballos, and “Baby Jordan” Harold Miner (who all won a Slam Dunk contest). I am a big fan of elite (or near elite) talent and after his rookie season Shawn Kemp was freaking filthy for about 10 straight seasons. He was a double double guy that could score, hit the glass, block shots, and throw down punishing and violent dunks like few others could (the only other one who was in his class for this was Dominique Wilkins). We all know how he ballooned up to 300+ pounds, was a shell of his former self once he left the Cavs, and fathered a million different children from a bakers dozen amount of women. I don’t want to dwell on that, instead I want to look back at the good side of Shawn Kemp…Shawn Kemp the sick dunker. Here’s the top 10 Shawn Kemp dunks and some of them are freaking bad ass (not like Rex Chapman dunks). Seeing this quickly reminds you of how explosive Shawn Kemp was and how baffling it was the he and Gary Payton were never able to win an NBA title together (or ever).
